I think you could restrict it with the security settings in internet explorer, but, why not restrict it in your firewall? That's probably easier to do, and you don't get that damned information bar popping up.

Madam Vel,
If you want to restrict just one site, follow these steps.

1. Press alt-t for the tools menu.
2. Arrow up to Internet Options and press enter.
3. Press Control tab to get to the security tab.
4. When you are asked to select a zone, arrow right until you hear "Restricted sites".
5. Press enter on "sites..."
6. Type in the name of the site in the site edit box.
7. If it is checked, uncheck "require server verification for all sites in this zone".
8. Finally, select OK a couple of times. Eventually you will end up back on the web page you were viewing.

I hope this helps.

Hi Blake. I went there but i didn't see the server verification that you mentioned.

Madam Vell,
The server verification checkbox I was referring to says, "require server verification https for all sites in this zone". I just refered to server verification because I didn't feel like typing "require server verifications https for all sites in this zone".

Hi, I understand what you mean but I never saw it, I'll just forget about using that site I guess.

Just so that you don't feel as though you're the odd one out Siobhan, I went threw all of those steps too, purely for experimental reasons, but I also never came across any such check box.

I'm sure that we're missing something very obvious here but at least you aren't the only person to be missing it! lol

Dan.

Not sure, but I think I have it.

You get the phrase "require server verification for all sites in this zone". For internet, local internet, and trusted sites, but not for restricted sites. Because, the first three are ways of letting a site in, whereas restricted sites is more a way of keeping a site out. If you are keeping the site out, why on earth would you require anything for that site (except for the requirement that it go away <grin>). So, you don't get the checkbox for restricted sites.

Haven't really checked it out, but it makes sense to me. How about you?

Thanks.
Bob

Grins glad I'm not the only one dan. It's no big deal, I'd just rather page not come up then it coem up and not be able to log in but oh well.

Okay, that's what I get for not checking it out first.

I didn't get the "require server verifications https for all sites in this zone" for either internet, local internet or restricted sites. It only comes up for trusted sites, that is, sites that might have been blocked for some reason, but you know it shouldn't be blocked.

Kind of makes sense in a Microsoftian way.

Blake, those were some good steps for blocking a site! Your steps are better than some of them you find in online help!
